Mutual Fund Trustees to Provide Confirmation of Standing Arrangements with Independent Firms on Continuous Basis

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (‘SEBI’), by way of its Circular dated July 26, 2023, has directed that trustees of mutual funds (‘MFs’) should have standing arrangements with independent firms for special purpose audit and/or to seek legal advice, whenever necessary, on a continuous basis. Further, the trustees are required to provide a confirmation to this effect in their half yearly trustee reports submitted to SEBI.
