What intrigues me is the evolution of tax authorities and their doggedness in challenging long-settled tax positions. This has thrown a host of new interpretational issues which are challenging and for that reason exciting. With the ever-increasing focus on “substance over form”, restructuring in today’s day and age has to be supported by strong commercial rationale which is only possible on a thorough understanding of business.

Ankul Goyal has over 9 years of experience and specializes in tax litigation and advisory. He has assisted various clients in resolving various international tax and transfer pricing disputes across India and has been directly involved in numerous cases before Courts in India, involving interpretational issues. He also advises clients on international tax matters, cross-border transactions, global transfer pricing policies, inbound and outbound investment structuring, mergers, acquisitions, and general corporate tax planning. He also advises and assists clients in disputes, enquiry and investigation emanating under FEMA and Black Money Act.
