Practice Area
My approach is fundamentally goal-oriented. The thrill of balancing the demands and concerns of interested stakeholders (clients, counter-parties, other advisors) whilst simultaneously creating a workable structure, keeps me motivated and enables me to think ‘outside the box’. This in turn, allows me to solve issues which up until then were considered ‘unsolvable’, a quality that is particularly useful in an industry which can sometimes be tied down to conventional approaches.
Ishan Handa has 10 years of experience and is part of the Banking & Finance practice. Ishan advises and represents Indian and international banks, asset reconstruction companies, housing finance companies, foreign portfolio investors and NBFCs in a wide variety of lending transactions, both onshore as well as offshore, including structured finance, promoter finance, project finance and real estate financing. Ishan also acts for private equity sponsors and credit funds in financing transactions with a focus on debt raising for their portfolio companies in India and acquisition/leveraged financings, minority back-leverage structures, distressed debt transactions and restructurings, both domestically as well as on a cross-border basis.
