Amendment to Indian Telegraph Rights of Way Rules, 2016

With effect from August 07, 2023, the DoT has notified the Indian Telegraph Right of Way (Amendment) Rules, 2023 (‘ITRWR Amendment’) amending the Indian Telegraph Right of Way Rules, 2016. By way of the ITRWR Amendment, the licensees are allowed to: (i) establish an overground telegraph infrastructure for a period of 60 days, without any additional fees, in case its existing underground telegraph infrastructure is damaged; and (ii) submit a single application for multiple sites for establishment of small cells.
