Commencement Date of Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act

By way of Notification dated November 6, 2021, the Governor of Haryana has specified January 15, 2022, as the date for bringing into force the Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020 (‘Haryana Local Candidates Act’). The Haryana Local Candidates Act requires employers to mandatorily employ local candidates to fill atleast 75% of the positions where the gross monthly salary is not more than Rs 30,000 (approx. US$ 401). The term local candidates is defined as candidates who are domiciled in Haryana.
