Directives to Disconnect Telecom Resources of Unregistered Senders

TRAI by way of Notification dated August 13, 2024, has directed access providers to stop voice promotional calls from unregistered senders or telemarketers using telecom resources. Any violation will result in: (i) disconnection of all telecom resources and blacklisting of the sender for up to two years; and (ii) no new allocation of telecom resources during the period of blacklisting. All access providers have been directed to submit regular updates on the actions taken.
