Issuance of Units of AIFs in Dematerialised Form

SEBI by way of its Circular dated June 21, 2023 (‘Circular’) has provided a timeline for dematerialization of units of AIFs. AIFs with corpus greater than / equal to INR 500 crores (approx. USD 60 million) are required to complete dematerialization of existing units by October 31, 2023, and issue units only in dematerialised form from November 1, 2023 onwards. AIFs with corpus less than INR 500 crores (approx. USD 60 million) are required to complete dematerialisation of existing units by April 30, 2024 and issue units only in dematerialised form from May 1, 2024 onwards.
