AZB & Partners advised United Spirits Limited, in seeking an unconditional approval from the Competition Commission of India, on the sale of its 100% stake in Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited (the RCB franchise) to a consortium led by the Aditya Birla Group, the Times of India Group, Bolt Ventures, the ICONIQ Group and Blackstone.

The transaction was the first of its kind, involving the sale of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), one of the IPL’s marquee cricket franchises.

The team comprised of Senior Partner Ram Kumar Poornachandran, Partner Toshit Shandilya, Senior Associate Vayshnavi Ganesh and Associates Nandini Modi and Arth Doshi.
