Amendment to Foreign Exchange Management (Export of Goods & Services) Regulations, 2015

RBI has, by way of a Notification dated June 24, 2025 (which came into effect as on July 4, 2025), amended the Foreign Exchange Management (Export of Goods & Services) Regulations, 2015 (‘Export Regulations’) (‘Export Amendment’). Regulation 4 of the Export Regulations specifies certain categories of goods and software that do not require exporters to file a declaration (containing the true and correct material particulars including the full export value of the goods/software) with the specified authority. The Export Amendment expands this list to include tugs or tugboats, dredgers, and vessels deployed for offshore support services, provided they are subsequently re-imported into India. Prior to the Export Amendment, such exemption was not available for the above mentioned.
