SEBI Extends Implementation Timeline of Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience Framework

SEBI had, by way of a Circular dated August 20, 2024, on ‘Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience Framework for SEBI Regulated Entities’ (‘CSCRF Circular’), mandated specified SEBI regulated intermediaries to adopt extensive compliance requirements to, inter alia, ensure robust cybersecurity measures and protection of data and IT infrastructure. By way of another Circular dated June 30, 2025, SEBI has extended the deadline for compliance with the provisions of CSCRF Circular to the applicable intermediaries, except market infrastructure institutions, Know Your Consumer (‘KYC’) registration agencies and qualified registrars to issue and share transfer agents, till August 31, 2025.
