Dispute Resolution

Bringing global best practices to high–stakes litigation and domestic and international arbitration.

OUR
PRACTICE

AZB & Partners’ dispute resolution team is the preferred partner for civil, criminal, commercial and constitutional disputes. We represent our clients across courts and tribunals and conduct arbitrations, mediations and negotiations on their behalf, within India and internationally. Our team is sought out for joint venture litigation, competition disputes and multi–jurisdictional arbitrations before the ICC, UNCITRAL, Singapore Court of International Arbitration and London Court of International Arbitration, where our founding partner, Zia Mody, served as Vice President between 2010 and 2013. Zia is also on the governing board of the ICCA.

Our work spans every industry, including construction, real estate, IT, aviation, banking and finance and infrastructure.

WHAT
WE DO

The Firm is known for its service–oriented approach at the highest levels, as evidenced by the amount of oversight on a matter even from our senior partners. Exposure to international arbitrations (in India and abroad) and working with large international law firms brings in global best practices.

Senior resources in the Dispute Resolution team are transaction lawyers who apply their understanding of contracts. This zeroes in on critical commercial issues to be able to evolve the right strategy. In the regulatory space, this is advantageous, since there is familiarity with regulatory regimes and the market approach to their applicability. Our in–house forensics team further facilitates our deep dives, giving equal weightage to evidentiary findings and research on law. Our clients directly benefit from the specialisation, years of varied experience and multiple perspectives.
