Amendments and Exemptions under Shops & Establishments Acts in Various States

The State Governments of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, Telangana and Punjab have issued notifications prescribing special provisions/exemptions for shops and commercial establishments, including in relation to working hours, overtime ceiling, spread over hours, rest intervals, and timelines for registration.

Additionally, several State Governments including Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi have notified exemptions to commercial establishments to employ women in the ‘night shifts’ subject to conditions prescribed under specific State notifications.
