Aviation

Bridging regulatory and operational complexities with cross–border expertise.

OUR
PRACTICE

The Firm’s partners and senior lawyers are uniquely suited to lead and deliver bespoke advice on sophisticated and complex structured aircraft leasing and finance deals, hybrid instrument issuances, aviation M&A and equity transactions, often across multiple legal regulations. Domain expertise and working across practice areas makes the team adept at handling contentious matters that typically arise in aircraft security enforcement, distressed debt restructuring and airline insolvency processes, or issues pertaining to securities and general corporate laws.

We advise banks, financial institutions and airlines on regulatory issues in the aviation sector, and assist on interfacing with the RBI. With Mr. G. Padmanabhan (former Executive Director, RBI) & Mr. Arijit Basu (former Managing Director, SBI) on board, our lawyers and clients vastly benefit from the superior insights on regulatory concerns and sector–specific commercial and business nuances. AZB also conducts extensive policy advocacy with regulatory authorities and advises government authorities in drafting sectoral regulations.
